Special Needs & Inclusion

Helmsley School is an inclusive school which works hard to ensure all children receive the best possible education. For some children, this may mean that some additional support or help may be needed. This could be in the form of additional activities such as interventions or catch-up work or it could mean we look for additional support from other professionals such as speech therapy or an enhanced mainstream school. You can find details of what we offer in our SEN Information report and School SEND Policy below.

In some cases the Local Authority may offer additional support and you can find details of this local offer by clicking here.

Key Contacts and information
If you have any concerns or questions your child’s class teacher is often best place to help initially and on a day to day basis.

Our SENCo, who oversees the provision for students with additional needs alongside the Headteacher and the SEN Trustee is Mrs Jemma Bullock and she can be contacted by email at jbullock@helmsley-alt.uk or by phone on 01439 770783. Mrs Bullock teaches full time in school but meetings or phone calls can be arranged via the contact details above or by speaking to your child’s class teacher. You are also able to arrange a meeting with Mrs Claire Lamb, Headteacher, to discuss any concerns you may have.

The SEN Governor is Mrs R Smith
